updated image ALSO for the Grand Prix, I figured I would try two different techniques. One for Pelia doing showjumping, and one for King doing Cross-Country. So I know this is really stupi looking but it's so I get a better knowledge of the musculature of the horse. And it's really fun! Not sure how I'm gonna get the background done while looking awesome though DX
And sorry for the horrible image quality
WIP of my Grand Prix entry for Pelia
But HOLY COW I AM NOT USING ANY REFERENCES! This is 100% me trying my hardest! Why? Because it says that the judging is based on effort (I swear if I straight up get last or loose or whatever I will kill someone XD) so far I have spent 6 days (I'm guesstimating 9 or so hours for the sketch, and 5 for the coloring, and 1 1/2 for the bridle so 15.5 hours or so so far)
Do you think I have a chance? I really hope so XD
Also I was thinking maybe I could open commissions of "realistic" horses. How much would you pay? I need cash...I could send the finished pieces to you...idk XD just an idea
AND YES THOSE ARE TINY BUCKLES. the horse head is approximately 1 1/4 inches
Thank you I'm so proud of this! I even did buckle holes and the tiniest bit of sclera around the eyes. And no lines (I did put some blue on the top of the horse after I finished the head to be used as contrasting shine later on XD )
I can't believe how much time and effort I've put into this piece! I'm hoping I can improve and start to sell fullbody commissions for actual money and since its traditional I could get the pieces framed and ship them wherever. And this is my trial run at realism to see if there's even a possibility of me becoming good enough to do that XD
